Depths of Awakening

I had just moved into my new studio when I began working on this piece. It was the first one I produced out of that sweet space. I felt a sense of newness and an awakening of my spirit while I created this one. It felt apt to name it "Depths of Awakening" since I had experienced a personal awakening in this new place of creativity.

There is something about this color of green that makes my heart smile and calms my spirit. The addition of the whimsical white flowers really added to the serene quality of this scene.

I often build my own canvases It’s somehow rewarding to create the substrate… makes it all feel more intentional and connected and part of me. I made this canvas and did it in this long vertical style because I love being able to put the earth and the sky into a single viewpoint. It allows me to demonstrate the world between them with more detail… to tell a story and show the world as I see it.

It truly was a delight to create this. I loved it so much I made a purple one in the same style. That one sold already, but this one has been waiting for it's home. I know it will find it's forever home one day. <3 Just like the one flower that is waiting to bloom in this scene, it’s waiting for the right moment to fly home.
