Spring Blooms Return, ,2024

I was playing around with all of the flowers I had pressed this past Spring. When I laid them all out on the canvas I saw a vase full of blooms, so that’s what I did here! Usually I create a garden scene, so this piece was a bit of a departure for me.

My tree friends provided lots of beauty for this piece. Here we have dogwood, cherry, and redbud blossoms. All from 2023. Lots of Spring wildflowers too.

I painted a floral scene as the background and then arranged the flowers on top, and followed up with delicate lines of ink.

And now, their beauty is preserved, blooming again for each new soul they encounter for many years to come.
