Waking Up

Just when we start to drift into dreams and our mind slips into slumber, there is a moment in between that is gentle, quiet, and real. Perhaps we are really waking up? 

This painting is probably the dreamiest of the three smaller pieces. There is a sense of floating in another realm when you look at it for awhile. I finished this off by edging the work gold shimmering paint. Little bits of glittery mica from the mountains are also softly layered into the ink, giving the piece a true “glow”.

I named this piece “Waking Up” . Do not dismiss the moments that seem unreal. They are the magic of life and precisely the place where we can step into the mystery and receive the gifts that are meant to be expressed through us.
